well, being involved in children’s literature, you won’t just believe how many books are written to help girls who have insecurities (anorexia, etc). The problem with these books is they encourage dwelling on it, even for people who don’t have these problems!
And the bad thing to is that it’s affecting men too. Men are now being hit with almost as many things as women are (the only exceptions are really perfume and makeup, but that’s changing). So now there are a whole lot of books being printed, and you’ll find lots of anorexic boys that have been spurred on by the girl-stuff influencing and feeding their insecurities.
I found a book called "Girl Power" a book designed to encourage self-reliance and security for a young girl. You have to buy three books! That’s really reassuring!

lol, hope you like some of the viewpoints. Insecurities can be found in the marketing of any product - that’s how they sell their product.
Venture a bit beyond just the normal "make-up" and "clothes" and you’ll probably get a good mark for ALSO venturing a bit further to examine other influences. Good luck!

You are right in that there are many conditions, eg endometriosis, that can cause very painful periods. If you are concerned you should talk yo your Dr and set up an appointment for a full pelvic exam and further testing.

However, some women do just get really bad period pain unfortunately. It’s just something we have to put up with. My periods are agonising and i experience the same symptoms you described above(yes- much more painful than the multitude of other injuries like a broken leg that i’ve had)- and strong codeine is the only thing that gives me a little relief.

I have had all the usual pelvic checks and scans- there is nothing to explain the painful periods- it’s just one of those things. Few Doctors will prescribe strong painkillers for period pain unfortuantely- which is silly because some women really do get so much pain they can’t move. I get prescriptions for strong co-codamol for another condition (i have interstitial cystitis which is a condition that causes a painful bladder) I take these pain meds for my period pain too.

My advice is to talk to your Dr and get checked out. If your Dr won’t help- find another one! You are probably fine, but at least a Dr might take you seriously if you explain how concerned you are and prescribe some proper pain meds. Good luck honey- hope you’re feeling better soon.

By the way- you sound quite young- there is a good chance you might grow out of the painful periods. Womens cycles often change every few years. I was the opposite, i never had any trouble with my periods when i was younger, but 2 years ago when i turned 24 they became horrible. Hopefully, you’ll be the other way around

Isn’t it obvious? We are under a LOT of pressure to look good in our culture. Gotta look good to attract a man/mate. And the media is constantly inundating us with images of perfect (who decides?) bodies, not normal folks. And the cosmetics industry spends BILLIONS convincing us we don’t look feminine enough or young enough.

Men love it because we cater to them. Just look at ads on TV, magazines, billboards, heck anywhere, that show scantily clad women. Where are the pics of scantily clad men? It’s no surprise that many men think that the only thing women are good for is sex.

More women have eating disorders (starving themselves or purging) but now that more men are gaining weight-more men are having eating disorders as well. Eating disorders become more than a health issue-for many women it becomes a matter of life and death.

there are special fertility doctors who can treat endometriosis. They also have knowledge in endocrinology which helps conquer this condition.

It is a health issue, this whole "Big is beautiful " ",Real women have curves" and any number of propaganda that support and encourage women to get or remain over weight ,have the potential to lead to health problems.

Heart disease , diabetes ,orthopedic problems and a number of different cancers are directly related to being over weight.

The current trend is to be skinny, unnaturally which has huge complications for the body. Most women aren’t naturally skinny, so they over exercise and diet which has negative effects. Then maintaining this skinny shape they are encouraging many health risks like fertility issues, bone broplems, heart failure. I’m sure there are lots of things on google is you type in danger diet etc.

Nothing is set in stone with infertility. Endometriosis is the leading cause of infertility among women of child bearing age in the US but many women have children while they have endometriosis. Have you been diagnosed?

If you have a hysterectomy, then you definitely cannot have children.

Image is an issue becuse of the image portrayed as example:IE magazine and movie stars. The women that are held up as the "best looking" are often wafer thin models. They cover magazines and advertisements and this is what man women look at and strive to be like. This then leads to nutritional issues for women because they are then willing ot starve themselves to look like these models.
