I need help??
Don't worry dear! It is indeed estimated that 30-40% of women with endometriosis may have difficulties in becoming pregnant, but still this doesn't mean that they won't get pregnant eventually! And after all, you won't know until you try, so no need to worry in advance. You just have to accept that from time to time there will be some pain, but that's all!
I suffer from endo, and I only have one advice for you! NEVER LET THIS HARM YOUR PSYCHOLOGY!! The first two years of my endo experience I was full of self-pity, asking things like "why me?" and s.o.. It affected every aspect of my life: work, relatioships, friendship, everything! I was constanly worried whether I would be able to have children. I'm sorry to say this, but many OBGYNs out there don't have a clue about endo or really aren't sensitive about harming your mental state -so be very careful of your choices and always get a second opinion before having an operation.
But now I have stopped worrying. I just don't think about it any more- what will be, will be! Of course I do what my OBGYN tells me, I do my own searching, and I have some pain, but that's all. And guess what! My endo is now undetectable! Not worrying about it is the best cure, I think.
You should never let this happen to you. Endo is a common desease, and after all it's not all THAT bad! There many worse things in this world.
I have endo. My OBGYN told me that it makes cysts and scar tissue build up in the uterus. Then the embryo has no where to attach. She told me that Birth Control pills can hold off infertility a little longer.

It depends how severe it is!
It is estimated that 30-40% of women with endometriosis may have difficulties in becoming pregnant (but this means that 60-70% will have no problems!). If fertility is a great wish, then please discuss your symptoms with your physician so that together you can develop the best treatment plan for you.

it blocks up everything. plus, if that doesn't cause infertility, the fact that you become frigid during intercourse expecting pain makes your body less likely to conceive too. laser surgery helped me. also, when I finally decided I was never going to have babies, I got pregnant. also, a very compassionate, gentle partner is needed for this to work too. lots of forplay so you will enjoy the sex. maybe even some alcohol to loosen you up - of course you don't want to drink if you become pregnant. hope this helps.

Essentially, anywhere that has the endometriosis on it, if the fertilized egg lands there, it won't attach to the uteran wall properly, and thus won't get fed with blood supply, etc.
Birth control pills will lessen the pain. I have not heard about them doing anything about infertility. Generally speaking, a Gyno will do "laproscopic" surgery, inserting a small device with a camera and a laser, and burn off any Endometeriosis. It will eventually grow back, but until it does, your chances of concieving go way up.

I agree with most of the women on here. It's the scaring tissue that can cause fertility issues..but there are new doctors that have innovative ways to help us! I am having my third surgery on 2/7 with a specilist who does excision surgery..instead of the lazer procedure that i have had twice previously. He also helps many women with advanced endo to concienve. My last laser was only 6 months ago and th endo is back. Don't me like me..thinking your OBGYN knows best. Find a doctor that does the right type of surgery and who wont steer you towards a hystrectomy (which won't cure you). Last and final tip…stay far far away from Lupron. It is an injectible medication that 'claims' to help women with endo. Many women have experienced side affects that are worse than their endo that do not seem to go away after treatment ends.
Best of luck!
Best of luck!

Like others mentioned, I believe it is due to the scar tissue endo causes. A lot of times endo can block one or both of your fallopian tubes. It is important to know though that not everyone with endo becomes infertile. For a good amount of women, endo will make it take longer to conceive, and some women will become infertile, but more women are able to have successful pregnancies than not. Lots of women have had children when their dr.'s told them it would never happen. As the one person mentioned, having surgery with a dr. that is highly knowledgable in endo and does excision surgery is the very best bet-for trying to conceive to long lasting relief of symptoms. Many women find that they had endo blocking their tubes and were able to conceive after having surgery with a dr. skilled enough to unblock their tubes. Feel free to email if you have any other questions. Take care.
